This kit is based around a 3 gallon MarineLand Sihouette aquarium, and contains everything you'll need to get started. Like any aquarium, you'll want to put the tank together at least a week or so before introducing any inhabitants. This kit contains:

1. MarineLand Silhouette Square Glass Aquarium Kit (3 Gallon)

This 3 gallon glass aquarium comes with built in 3 stage filtration and premium LED lighting. The all glass aquarium is surrounded by a unique, curved black ABS plastic stand, and fits in with any style of decor.

2. Small Aquarium Heater

This heater will help keep your future fish inhabitants warm and slightly above room temperature - aim for a water temperature of about 78 degrees for most species of tropical fish. Please make sure to research the ideal temperature of the specific species you'll be keeping.

3. LCD Aquarium Thermometer

Stick this thermometer on the outside glass of the aquarium, where it can easily be monitored.

4. Aquarium gravel

Gravel serves many functions in an aquarium. Not only does it look good and function as a substrate to anchor fake plants into, but it provides a sense of security to your fish. Fish are used to having dark substrate below them and light above them - the combination of gravel and an aquarium light replicates this. Most importantly, gravel provides surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow, which help keep your water clean.

5. Artificial Jungle Vine

Even with the use of artificial decor, it's possible to replicate a bit of nature in your desktop aquarium. Bend and twist this artificial vine until you like the way it looks!

6. Freshwater Flake Fish Food

This delicious recipe of fresh, cold water seafood is blended specifically to enhance the levels of Omega 6 fatty acids. Omega 6 fatty acids are extremely valuable to freshwater species for strong immune systems and cell wall development. Low ash and higher quality proteins mean less pollution in the tank.

7. Josh's Frogs Dechlorinator Tap Water Conditioner (4 oz)

Keep your shrimp healthy by regularly changing their water. Make tap water safe with our Dechlorinator. It'll remove any chlorine or chloramines present in your tap water - these toxins serve to keep our water safe for drinking, but can quickly be fatal to shrimp.

8. Small Nylon Fish Net

You won't need a fish ned often, but when you do it's a valuable tool. It can be used to manipulate things out of reach in the aquarium, remove uneaten food, and can capture fish should you ever need to remove them from the tank.

9. Small Siphon Vacuum Gravel Cleaner

This gravel val really sucks! Gravel vacs help remove debris, the mulm that builds up in the gravel bed over time, and help speed up the chore of water changes.

10. Artificial Aquarium Plants

There doesn't have to be anything fake about about the appearance of fake plants! These are not the plastic atrocities of yesteryear. Modern artificial plants are much more convincing than the ones we grew up with. Your fish won't know the difference betwen these and the real thing, but you will - no fertilizing or trimming required!
