Defining Characteristics: 

• Sleek, upright bright green foliage that cascades outwards at the top like the tied back hair of a ponytail
• Called a ponytail due to its growth form, the base of this slow-growing plant is bulbous for storing water and protrudes above the soil
• Interestingly, this plant is neither a palm nor a tree. It’s actually a type of succulent
• An extremely durable species that can withstand extended droughts and brief periods of low temperatures

Care Notes: Avoid overwatering. As a succulent plant, Ponytail palms require only minimal watering. Although this plant can be used in tropical vivariums, it’s not recommended due to its overall adult size and the high moisture conditions of a terrarium. 

Shipping Notes: 

As a good practice, Josh's Frogs recommends washing all plants thoroughly, removing as much soil as possible with dechlorinated water before placing them in their final home.
