Josh’s Frogs Cichlid Shells are the perfect addition to any shell-dwelling cichlid (Neolamprologus sp.) aquarium. They are lightweight unlike sea shells, and can be easily manipulated by small fish. They also sink to the bottom and can be scattered throughout the aquarium.

It is recommended that you have at least two shells per cichlid to give the fish an adequate sense of security. These shells replicate the natural environment of shell-dwelling cichlids, and also make great decoration and hiding spots for fish in regular community aquariums!

Cichlid shells may break down slightly over time, but it takes many years to see a difference. This decomposition may contribute slightly to water hardness and pH.

Since these shells are a natural product, size will vary. Most shells measure ~1.5 -2" at the widest dimension. Shell openings are ~0.75 - 1".
