About This Product

Josh's Frogs Coco Cradle is created from finely ground coconut husk, sometimes called coco fiber, coconut fiber, or simply coco. This product is not in compressed brick form, so it will be ready to use as soon as you receive it. Coco Cradle is easy to clean, retains humidity well and easy to use!

Josh's Frogs Coconut Beddings and Substrates are direct from a family-owned production facility in Sri Lanka and are organically grown, 100% biodegradable, environmentally friendly, and safe for your pets.

How to Prep: Moisten the Coco Cradle with declorinated water until it is damp, but not dripping water when squeezed. Josh's Frogs Dechlorinator Tap Water Conditioner  will make your tap water safe. Only soak what you plan to use, do not store wet.

Recommended Animals: Coco Cradle is a very soft, absorbent bedding making it ideal for a variety of lizards snakes, tortoises, salamanders, frogs and other reptiles and amphibians that require moderate to high humidity, as well as invertebrates!

Recommended Plants: Josh's Frogs Coconut Substrates can also be used in horticulture as a growing medium, moisture retainer, soil conditioner, mulching agent, or root developer for home, garden, or commercial purposes. Coconut fiber can retain 8-9 times its weight in water. In addition to water, coconut fiber does a great job absorbing nutrients, aerating soil, and promoting healthy root growth.

  • Artificial Plants (when used straight as animal bedding)

Suitable for Misted Setups: No.

Care: Coco Fiber can dry out, so monitor your humidity levels and mist as needed. Spot clean as you see messes. Completely change out every 6 months to a year, or as you feel is needed.

good for backgrounds

This stuff is ideal for making backgrounds as it is already fairly dry so it will stick to the silicon and greatstuff used to make a custom background.

great for adding plants

These cups are great for adding plants I use them for foaming in extra spaces to in a custom background to add more depth to the design. These cups could also be used to plant in the substrait so you can easily remove plants if thats your thing.

Great for creating a nice tropical background wall

The coco fiber needs to be used immediately after putting on your Great Stuff, and needs to be pushed into it before the Great stuff expands, otherwise it does not adhere to it well. Once we figured this out, that time was important, we were able to apply it directly onto the Great Stuff. In areas where it was starting to dry quickly, we used the silicone adhesive and tank looks great.

Coco Cradle

Great looking stuff for our custom background and even used some for the substrate mix. Looks great and you get a ton of it for the price.
