About This Product

Sepia bones (also known as cuttle bones) are internal structures found in cuttlefish. They are composed of calcium carbonate, and are a natural way to easily provide calcium to a wide variety of animals, including birds, turtles and tortoises, and even invertebrates such as isopods and hermit crabs.

Since these are natural products, size and shape will vary. Each will measure ~3.5 - 6" long, 1.5 - 2.5" wide.

  • Excellent source of calcium
  • Floats - ideal for aquatic turtles
  • Helps trim beaks in tortoises, turtles and terrapins
  • Suitable for all types of lizards

How to Use: For birds, suspend the sepia bone in the cage, off of the enclosure floor. Dispose of if it becomes soiled.
For turtles, tortoises, and invertebrates, place the sepia bone (or a fragment of it) on the surface of the substrate. The animal will find and consume the sepia bone as needed. If the sepia bone becomes discolored or develops a foul smell or growth, replace immediately.

Warning: Not for human consumption

My absolute favorite

These are the best quality and value of any of the other brands of sepia/cuttlebone that I've ever used (which is probably more than 20 different products) I always get at least 5 boxes at a time, or as many as possible when they are low on stock. When I'm in need of more, I always check here first. If they are sold out I literally check the site everyday to see if they are back in stock. Will always highly recommend.
