Josh’s Frogs Drainage Layer is for use in terrariums as the first layer in the bottom of the terrarium and it allows excess water to drain through the soil and prevent the plant roots from rotting. You will need enough material to create a ½” to 1” deep layer. For a 5” wide container, 1 cup of Josh’s Frogs Drainage Layer will make a 1”deep layer.

This is great stuff. It is very light and does a great job.

Light substrate
Very light and almost "weightless " substrate,much lighter than hydroballs and fascinating that its derived from recycled material.

Very light
This was so much better than buying gravel. It's not bad to look at in the tank either. Joshs frog formula for how many you need was great two bags filled it up right around 3-4 inches thick
