Recreate a reptile’s desert habitat with attractive, 100% natural ground English walnut shell. Ground to a uniform size, this bedding provides a comfortable home for desert-dwelling reptiles by retaining heat. This material is made in the USA, and can be readily composted with everyday yard waste.

For hatchling and juvenile reptiles, it is recommended to use a  Zilla Terrarium Liner.

 

Directions:

 

1. Pour bedding into terrarium and landscape as desired. A depth of one to two inches is recommended.
2. Remove animal waste and soiled bedding daily. Replcace bedding monthly or as needed.

Feeding:

Always feed reptiles from a shallow bowl or plate. Always provide a separate bowl of fresh water. When feeding live food, it is best to feed the reptile in a separate container or a terrarium that contains no substrate.

Humidity:

It may be necessary to add humidity depending on the species of reptile. Zilla Desert Blend is designed for use in dry desert terrariums. If humidity is required, it is best to provide it in the form of a separate humid hide or den with a shallow container of moist moss inside. This will provide a humid retreat for desert reptiles that are shedding or prefer moist burrows.
