The Josh's Frogs Baby Tortoise Tankless Kit (20L) contains everything you need to set up a basic enclosure for baby or yearling tortoises of commonly kept species! 1 Screen Cover (20 Gallon Long/29 Gallon)

This Screen Cover is an easy-to-install cover for aquariums and glass tanks. The strong metal screen provides ventilation and allows necessary UV penetration while ensuring reptiles, feeder insects, and other small animals are safely secured.

2. Josh's Frogs Super Cypress (10 quarts)

Super Cypress, mixed at a 1:1 ratio with rehydrated Coco Cradle, is a great substrate for many species of tortoises. I use it at a depth of about 2" for younger animals, and up to 6" thick for older animals that like to burrow.

3. Josh's Frogs Coco Cradle Brick (8 Quarts)

Combined with Super Cypress, coco bedding helps hold in humidity and allows your tortoise to dig if it wants to. I've raised red foots, hermann's, and leopard tortoises on this mix for years! Soak the brick in dechlorinated water, squeeze to remove excess water, then mix at a 1:1 ratio with Super Cypress.

4. Water Dish

This easy to clean terrarium dish makes a great feeding dish for your pet tortoise.

5. Feeding Dish

This shallow feeding bowl makes a great soaking bowl for your pet tortose! Use dechlorinated or spring water, and change daily, as it will probably become a rest stop quickly!

6. Josh's Frogs Spray Bottle

This is an easy-to-use sprayer. The spray nozzle can be adjusted to allow either single stream or full mist spraying. Spray your tortoise enclosure 1-2 times a day, paying attention to your pet's humidity needs. Make sure to spray several hours before 'lights out', so your tortoise's enclosure is not wet after the heat bulb is turned off.

7. Hide

This naturalistic appearing hide provides your pet tortoise with a sense of security, and can be easily washed. It will last most species up to about a year in age.

9.Basking Spot (50 Watt)

The bulb simulates the natural photo-environment of a desert or tropical habitat while generating a heat source needed for a healthy reptile environment. Photons from the daylight spot bulb provides a focused beam of heat and light that pass through the glass heating the opposing surface, creating a direct basking spot for reptile. The bulb is made from glass containing rare earth neodymium phosphors produce a brighter, whiter light. This full-spectrum lamp emits energy across all visible wavelengths from 400nm to 700nm and UVA rays from 315nm to 400nm.

Some species of tortoises may require a warmer basking spot. Please research the needs of your pet before purchasing this kit, and purchase a higher wattage bulb if needed.

10. 5.0 UVB Tropical Terrarium Bulb (13 Watt)

This UVB bulb emits optimal levels of UVB, similar to that of shady environments such as rain forests or other tropical locations. Reptiles living in these habitats receive moderate UV radiation due to climatological conditions (fairly high humidity, changes in weather, etc) that prevent unfiltered sunlight from reaching the reptile’s basking site. The optimal Vitamin D3 yield index ensures vitamin D3 photosynthesis to aid calcium absorption and prevent metabolic diseases.

This bulb is suited for many forest dwelling species of tortoises. For species requiring a higher UVB output, consider the Exo Terra Reptile UVB 150 Desert Terrarium Bulb (13 Watt).

11. Digital Terrarium Thermometer-Hygrometer

At a single glance, a terrarium owner can monitor the two most critical environmental variables in reptile health and comfort. Both temperature and relative humidity are displayed on a large digital readout.
